9.3     The necessary conditions to use QW-FFM

For the purpose of performing QW-BHM simulations accounting for fluid flow, QW-FluidFlow and QW-BHM features must be enabled in the dongle. Availability of features in the dongle may be verified using QW-Hasp License Manager application and in the  „About” window of QW-Editor or QW-Simulator.

Furthermore, BHM mode and Allow heat transfer options, available in Heating Details dialogue invoked through BHM Settings… menu, need to be activated to allow for fluid flow regime calculations.

It is also required that projectname.ff3 file, describingg the fluid flow module simulation settings, is created and saved by the user in the simulation project directory. An example of *.ff3 file, called pp_X_.ff3, is available in qw_examp\QW_3D\BHM\Heat_FluidFlow\ directory for user’s reference and its format is described in Model Input section..

If all three conditions given above are fulfilled QW-Simulator will run QW-BHM simulation accounting for Fluid Flow calculations. For the user’s reference, an additional information: “Start internal Fluid Flow Module with: fullpath/ projectname.ff3” (as shown below) is reported in the Simulation Log.

The thermal media parameters must be set in QW-Editor or in the *.pmo and *.pm2 files.
