1.1.7 DXF Import/Export

The DXF importer and exporter are not included in the QW-Modeller / FreeCAD distribution. The DXF files libraries should be downloaded manually by the user.

After opening the DXF file for the first time, the following message will appear:

After clicking Yes, QW-Modeller will automatically download necessary DXF files libraries and will place them in the macros directory.

We can change the option for downloading DXF libraries (and many others) manually in the DXF preferences in the Import-Export section in the Preferences dialogue using Edit®Preferences... command from the main menu. The DXF options are related to Draft workbench and they are not present in the Preferences dialogue by default.

Firstly, we must activate Draft workbench (see Workbench switching chapter for more information) and then use Edit®Preferences... command to change the default settings.
