3 Horn antenna

This example is available in .../QW-3D/Standard/Antennas/Horns/horn1.QWPro in the QW-Modeller examples directory and can be loaded using File®Open Examples... command from main menu.

Let us now consider simple horn antenna. Since we are dealing with a radiating three dimensional structure, the Circuit Type needs to be set to 3D and the background medium to air. We also set the project units to millimetres. Now we can proceed to drawing the horn antenna. We leave this stage to the user (he can draw the antenna himself or import it, e.g. in *.step file) and we only indicate the antenna dimensions.

The waveguide's inside dimensions are 10 mm and 5 mm, in X and Y directions respectively. Its length in Z direction equals to 20 mm. The wall thickness is 2 mm. The horn length in Z direction is 30 mm and its dimensions extend (from waveguide dimensions) to 20 mm and 15 mm, in X and Y directions respectively. The wall thickness remains the same as for the waveguide.
