13.1 General Information

Multithread versions of QW-Simulator are included on an installation disc for QuickWave software. The following executable files should be installed in the <INSTALLDIR>\qwbin directory:

a)         ker1omp.exe – implementation of QW-OMP Simulator

All standard hardware and system requirements of QuickWave software must naturally be observed. Additionally, the following restrictions and remarks apply:

·       Hardware: For reasonable operation, QW-MultiSim versions should be used on multiprocessor/multicore personal computers. Only in such a case they can provide speed-up over the sequential QW-Simulator.

·       System: As for all QuickWave software, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 is necessary. Their 64-bit variants are recommended.

ker1omp.exe can be manually started by the user from the QuickWave programs Windows menu.

The QW-MultiSim version (ker1omp.exe) can be installed together with the sequential QW-Simulator (ker1.exe) in the same <INSTALLDIR>\qwbin directory. Any of them can be manually started by the user. However, ker1omp.exe is set by the installation as the default program automatically started from the QW-Editor. This default can be changed through the combo box list located in the toolbar in the QW-Editor.

All QW-MultiSim versions can also be set as a default program automatically started from QW-Modeller.

Essentially, each of the QW-MultiSim versions can be applied in any regime of QuickWave software.
